About Pages Of Stories
Pages Of Stories started out in 2010 as an online magazine of short fiction stories. Through various evolutions and down times we've grown into so much more.
Our mission statement is ""Inspiring Imaginations." We do this by encouraging everyone to create their own books, selling some really creative pieces of literature and inspiring people to read or write or use their imagination and stretch that creative muscle. We are dedicated to everything reading and books.
We've evolved over time and have introduced and will introduce new changes. Here's just a part of what we're doing.
Personalized Photo Books. We help you preserve your special memories, special days and special events into a classic coffee table book. You have full control.
Book Design. We get your manuscript, cook book, educational or technical book print ready.
Bookbinding. We can bind your special books, or do a small print run to test your market. Both hardcover and softcover are options.
Coaching / Consulting. You've finished your book but don't know what the next step will be. Contact us and we can help you.
A Lasting Impact. Have you ever received a box full of pictures of some unknown family member in some unknown location? Have you ever looked at them and wondered what the story was? If you could ask any ancestor of yours a question - who would you ask and what would you ask? Who out there is waiting to ask you a question? If you would like to leave a legacy for your descendents that tells your story in whatever media you are most comfortable with, take a look at what this course has to offer.
Bookbinding Workshop. Any DIYer will know that there's great satisfaction in creating your own stuff. Join us for a workshop to create your own journal. Or have a house party to learn the basics in 2 hours and still have your own journal.
Shopping. Browse through our books and reading helpers.
We are located in the little town of Crossfield, Alberta, Canada just north of Calgary.
Thanks to the incredible advancement of the internet and technology itself, we are able to run these projects from our home.
Over the years we've forged many great relationships with authors, readers, printers and anyone else involved in the literary world. Expanding our world to introduce more people to the joys of reading is what we're aiming to do.
While Darlene and Gary Poier started this little venture, we don't do this alone. Along the way we've gotten some excellent help from some very talented people with all of our published works.
Laura Crowe was our editor. She's done an awesome job of turning people's excellent stories into something even better. For every publication that Pages Of Stories put out, Laura made it better. She can be reached at www.imagineitinwriting.com.
Andreas Zimmermann is not only a talented story teller, but a very skilled graphic designer as well. He was the creative force behind all the Ficta Fabula magazine covers. His books "Shard" are very popular amongst the tween group. He can be found at www.andreaszimmermann.ca.
Dan Webster has done the illustrations for the magazine Ficta Fabula and we've been talking to him about other projects as well.
For those of you that were around for the first iteration of the Pages Of Stories website you might remember this. It was a beautiful website that featured our two original pets - Dash (cat) and Kayla (dog). Sadly both have crossed the rainbow bridge.
